Roger is our resident “Late model expert” winning the NASCAR Northwest Region in 2002 and having 5 Championships in the NASCAR weekly racing series at Colorado National Speedway in the last 10 years! He started racing figure 8’s at Englewood speedway in 1971, and then moved up to Late Models in 1977. He continued racing late models at Englewood speedway until it closed in 1978. He won the Late model Championship at Colorado Springs International Speedway in Colorado Springs in 1981 and then traveled winning the very first Southwest Tour race in Saugus CA in 1986, and competing in the old ASA series. He has several Challenge Cup wins at CNS in the late model and the Protuck, which he drives for Alex Ortiz. |
Advice to those just getting into racing: Race the division you can have fun with, and that your finances will allow. Advice to those building a new car and needing many new parts: Buy good quality parts that you need and not the ones that “will get you by”
